The city of Bariloche is located in the western part of the Rio Negro region in Argentina. It is often called ‘San Carlos de Bariloche’, as it was named after an early pioneer (Carlos Wiederhold) along with the word ‘Vuriloche’ which means ‘people from behind the mountain’. Situated right by the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Bariloche is surrounded by magnificent lakes, parks, and mountains and provides a fantastic mix of urban and nature-based attractions and adventure activities.
