There is a monument to the memory of the General Jose Antonio Alvarez de Arenales, who went along with General San Martin in the campaign with the Liberation Army. Located around the monument, 14 muses represent all the provinces of the Argentinean Nation. 
• Visit the Basilica Cathedral which is a huge and magnificent church where construction started in 1858 and concluded in 1882. Its altar is gilded in gold sheets and has images of many of the city patrons.
