Patagonia is located in Argentina and Chile, it comprises the Andes Mountains to the west and south, and plateaux and low plains to the east. This is a region containing the southernmost portion of South America. The history of its founding peoples, their artistic expressions, their traditional festivals all lead you to Patagonia’s thousand year old culture but also contrast against most modern art expressions in a wide range of museums and events that are rich in colour.

Regional Hotspots:

• Santa Cruz – is a small town of approximately 3000 inhabitants and is situated on the south margin of the wide estuary of river Santa Cruz. Very near here you will find a hot spring with curative qualities. Tourists will find many interesting sights in Santa Cruz where there are many natural reserves and two national parks: Perito Moreno and Los Glaciares. Santa Cruz is known around the world for its mountain climbing. The amazing Cueva de las Manos has wonderful cave designs which go back 8,000 years before Christ.
• La Pampa - is has a significant migration of different languages spoken who have preserved their most ancient customs. This is a colony located 40 kilometres from Guatrache and can only be visit in the company of a guide authorized by the community.
• Rio Negro – has a valuable architectural heritage and events linked to music, literature and art which can be experienced in the city of San Carlos de Barioche, province of Rio Negro, which is one of the best known tourist destinations in Patagonia. The Bosque Tallado or “Carved Forest” is a monument dedicated to Ceferino Namuncura which forms a tribute to the most ancient beliefs and religious forefathers in the small town of Chimpay.
• San Martin de los Andes – offers an authentic cultural proposal ranging from its renowned sculptural tradition to all other art forms.  It is known as the City of Arts. In Junin de los Andes, the Via Christi on the mount Cerro de la Cruz, the old cemetery and burial place of the famous Cacique (chief) Namuncura, features life size sculpted figures which summon processions from the four corners of the province and attract thousands of visitors yearly.
• Chubut – has a wide range of amazing museums that lets you into the unique cultural history of the province of Chubut and Patagonia. A few of the most amazing museums are the Regional History Museum, The Historic Resque Museum, The Dolavon Flour Museum and the Leleque Museum.
