• Imperial Palace – Originally constructed as a Gothic building, the Imperial Palace was rebuilt in a baroque style during the 18th century on the orders of Empress Maria Theresa. Its state apartments are decorated with chandeliers and gold flourishes, while the so-called Giant’s Hall features paintings and frescoes of the Empress and her 16 children.
• Ambras Castle – The 16th-century residence of Archduke Ferdinand II, this stunning Renaissance castle boasts a gorgeous 43-metre banquet hall and many fascinating artefacts brought to Europe by early explorers.

• Nordpark Cable Railway – A state-of-the-art transportation system that whisks travellers from the centre of Innsbruck to the 2300-metre-high summit of Seegrube Mountain in just 20 minutes. The uniquely designed curved glass stations are just as breathtaking as the views from the top.
