Lake Titicaca is located on the border of Bolivia and Peru and sits 12,507 feet above sea level making it the highest commercially navigable lake in the world. Lake Titicaca is fed by rainfall and melt-water from glaciers on the sierras and five major river systems feed into it. It is noted for the people who live on the Uros which are a group of 40 or so islands made of floating reeds. These islands have become Peru’s major tourist attractions.
