Easter Island is situated in the vast expanse of the Southern Pacific Ocean 3600km west of Chile, making it one of the most isolated places on earth. Best known for the Moai statues that dot the coast line, this island is also home to many petroglyphs and traditional wood carvings. It still remains one of the most unique places to visit, from its friendly people to the amazing volcanic caters, lava formations, beaches, brilliant blue water and archaeological sites.

Island Hotspots:

• Moai – The large stone statues, or Moai, for which Easter Island is world famous, were carved during a relatively short and intense burst of creative and productive megalithic activity. 887 monumental stone statues have been inventoried on the island and in museum collections.
• Ahu Akivi - Ahu Akivi is a group of seven Moais on a single stone platform surrounded by cultivated land and wild guava bushes. It is one of the few inland stone platforms holding Moais that face the ocean.
• Rano Kau – Well worth a visit is this Chilean National Park site as it is one of the most scenic and beholding sights on the island. The absolute beauty of its steep crater makes it a must see.
• White Sand Beaches – Easter Island features two white sand beaches. Anakena, on the north side of the island, is an excellent bodysurfing location. The second beach is a gem so hidden it doesn't even have a name. Found along the southern shore of the island near Ahu Vaihu, this beautiful and desolate beach is much larger than Anakena and is surrounded by breathtaking cliffs.
• Motu Nui and Motu Iti – These islets are located about 1 km south of the island and are famous for scuba diving and snorkelling.
• Caves – While there are a couple of official caves that are quite interesting in their own right, there is also real adventure to be had in exploring all of the numerous unofficial caves on the island, most of which are found near Ana Kakenga.
