• Dresden Zwinger built in 1710-28 and originally designed as an orangery.  The Zwinger is a great example of late Baroque architecture and now houses the Old Masters Picture Gallery, Armoury, Porcelain Collection, Zoological Museum and Semper Gallery
• The Frauenkirche Church was built between 1726 and 1743. Re-built after WWII, the steeple towers above the Dresden skyline and is an impressive symbol of international reconciliation finally being reconstructed in 2005 and attracting millions of visitors each year.
• Royal Palace built in the 15th century, destroyed by fire in 1701 and rebuilt, like much of Dresden, style between 1889 and 1901. A blend of styles from Baroque and neo-renaissance with its magnificent Baroque cupola being restored in 1991.  Well worth a visit!.

• Dresden is host to the 2nd largest Dixieland Festival in the world.  The city’s lively cultural scene plays host to this music festival every spring, where around 40 jazz bands entertain and perform to crowds of over one hundred thousand, with of course great German food and drink.
