Cairo, the Triumphant City, known officially as al-Qāhirah is one of the world's largest urban areas. Located along the banks of the longest river in the world, the Nile River, Cairo is an open air museum revealing landmarks from long gone civilisations of Roman and Greek descent. It is however the Pharaohs who have left the strongest imprint on the city with almost every Egypt Pyramid in close proximity including the Great Pyramids of Giza along with the largest statue in the world - the Great Sphinx of Giza.
