The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is an imposing sight as it towers over its neighbours with Mt Teide at over 12000 feet in altitude.  The island has a rocky and lush northwest, barren east and resort style beaches at its south. With it’s year round ideal climate the island has become a playground for travellers from all over Europe and offers great walks, swimming, diving and relaxing opportunities in many of the  resorts.

• Santa Cruz – The capital of Tenerife and located on the northeast coast.  Santa Cruz is a bustling port city which is situated in a large bay with stunning views of the Anaga Mountains.  There is an abundance of excellent shops from the Plaza de España on the seafront all the way up the Plaza de Candelaria – one advantage of shopping in the Canary Islands is that they are tax free islands. The city also offers some nice places to eat, bars and cafes.
• Playa de las Americas – the largest tourist destination on the island with 3 natural beaches linked by a long promenade, lots of shopping, places to eat, drink and dance the night away.  The resort also boasts amusement arcades, water theme parks and all sorts of water sports available along the beach: jet bikes, water skiing, scuba diving, banana rides, plus horse and camel rides, boat trips to see bottlenose dolphins and whales and excursions to Santa Cruz and Mount Teide National Park.
