The Midlands is located in central England and the greater part of the area is administered as the two regions of West Midlands and East Midlands. Each region consists of various counties offering something for all visitors from vibrant cities to quiet sleepy villages, each with their own characteristics. The Midlands is known for manufacturing, many automobile companies have set up plants the region including Jaguar, Volvo and Peugeot in the West Midlands and Rolls Royce in the East Midlands.

• Bournville- is a historic town renowned for its connections to the famous chocolate manufacturer George Cadbury. A Cadbury factory is located here which provides the ultimate chocolate experience including chocolate making and demonstrations. Also found in Bournville is a Tudor house dating back to the 14th century, now an open museum displaying an excellent collection of period furniture and artifacts.
• Leicester City- is found at the edge of the National Forest. It is a traditional country town of Leicestershire situated on the banks of the River Soar. Leicester City is rich in history and diversity, and is the largest city in the East Midlands. The city offers acres of parks and gardens and was declared the first “Environment City” in England due to its commitment to sustainable development and preservation of the environmental.
• Birmingham- is the capital of the West Midlands and is the second largest city in Britain to London. Birmingham was once a leader in the industrial revolution however has reinvented itself with vibrant neighborhoods and many h attractions. Art Lovers should visit the Barber Institute which holds an impressive collection of Renaissance masterpieces including works from Rubens and Van Dyck or the Ikon Gallery with its contemporary visual art exhibitions.
