Leicester City- is found at the edge of the National Forest. It is a traditional country town of Leicestershire situated on the banks of the River Soar. Leicester City is rich in history and diversity, and is the largest city in the East Midlands. The city offers acres of parks and gardens and was declared the first “Environment City” in England due to its commitment to sustainable development and preservation of the environmental. Birmingham- is the capital of the West Midlands and is the second largest city in Britain to London. Birmingham was once a leader in the industrial revolution however has reinvented itself with vibrant neighborhoods and many h attractions. Art Lovers should visit the Barber Institute which holds an impressive collection of Renaissance masterpieces including works from Rubens and Van Dyck or the Ikon Gallery with its contemporary visual art exhibitions.
