The romantic island of Santorini, is said to be the most spectacular of the Greek Islands offering some of the most stunning sunsets in the world. The western side of the island is perched on a submerged volcano known as the Caldera.  Many hotels on the island have been carved out of the rock face of the caldera offering amazing views over the cliffs of the shining blue Aegean sea.    

Island Hotspots:

• Thira –The main town of Santorini, Thira is a sea of charming white houses with blue windows.  Full of life during the summer months, Thira offers a range of restaurants, cafes and shops and is also known for its many churches and monestaries some of which date back to the 17th century.
• Firostefani – Lying to the north of Thira, Firostefani is a small traditional cliff-top village. As the elevation is higher it provides a different viewpoint with which to appreciate the volcano and the stunning views of the Caldera. 
• Imerovigli – The highest point in Santorini, Imerovigli is two kilometres from Thira, and is a quiet village offering magnificent views of Thira and the sunset.  The Skakos rock is an iconic landmark of the area which was housed a magnificant castle ruined by earthquakes in the 19th century. 
• Oia – Located on the rim of the Caldera, Oia is described a charming town which offers an array of small galleries, cafes and boutiques.   From Oia the sunset views are said to be the most spectacular on the island.   
• Red Beach – Located near the town of Akrotiri., this beach is described as the most famous of all the beaches in Santorini. Named after the slabs of red and black volcanic rock that surround the beach along with the colour unique reddish colour of the sand – it is worth a visit even if not to sunbake.   
• Kamari Beach – A distinctive beach known for its black sand, Kamari is characterised by the massive rock - Mesa Vouno.  Views of the area are particularly striking at night when Mesa Vouno is illuminated.
