Ios, part of the Cycladic group, is a hilly island with cliffs cascading down to the sea on most sides. Situated halfway between Naxos and Santorini, Ios is known for its distinctive Aegean architecture along with its lively atmosphere and endless fun, making it the perfect choice for younger tourists. It is a famous tourist destination, attracting visitors to its golden beaches which are adorned by kilometres of soft sand and emerald waters.

Island Hotspots:

• Ios Town – Located on the western side of the island, Ios Town is the main village of Ios. This charming village has little flat-roofed cube houses and narrow stone paved streets winding like a maze of white lines. Enjoy the view from Panaghia Gremiotissa, the highest spot of the village, as it is truly unforgettable, especially at sunset.
• Ormos – This is the natural harbour of Ios Island. It is the second most populated area after Ios Town. Ormos is built amphitheatrically on the slopes of a mountain overlooking the sea. Yialos, situated near the port, is an area full of restaurants and beach bars and extends from the marina to the Yialos beach.
• Mylopotas – South west of Ios Town is Mylopotas beach, the busiest beach of Ios. This long sandy beach stretches for one kilometre and offers sun beds, umbrellas, beach bars, cafes, restaurants and a great variety of water sports.
• Manganari – Situated approximately 23 km from Ormos port, on the south coast of Ios and at the end of Mylopotas beach, is a hilly road that reaches the wonderful and almost deserted Manganari bay. This captivating bay is divided into five peaceful beaches with pebbles or golden sand and shallow turquoise coloured water.
• Koumbara – This 300 meter long sandy beach is located north west of Ormos port. It is much quieter than Mylopotas as it is undisturbed by the noise and big crowds of tourists. It is the ideal place for swimming in clear shallow waters along the Ios rocks.
