• The White Tower of Thessaloniki– the most famous of the cities landmarks, this monument and museum is on the waterfront of the city and was once a prison the location of a historic bloodbath. Inside the white tower is the small Byzantine Museum.
• The Museum of Byzantine Culture - The museum has collections of sculpture, frescoes, mosaics, icons, and inscriptions from the Byzantine period. It has permanent exhibitions, rooms for temporary thematic exhibitions, conservation workshops, and storerooms. The exhibits include sculptures, wall paintings, mosaic floors, icons, metalwork, coins, inscriptions, glassware, and pottery.
• Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum - the collection of Archaic to Late Roman sculptures from Thessaloniki and Macedonia in general are displayed in the central section of the museum. They illustrate the history of Thessaloniki from prehistoric times to Late Antiquity.

• The Modiano Market - Gypsies with dancing bears once played music in the Modiano Market. The bears are gone, but street musicians still stroll the area. You can easily spend a morning in the glass-roofed market that covers an entire square block, happily wandering from stall to stall and eyeing the fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, flowers, spices, and baked goods on sale.
• Waterfront / Nikis Avenue – a famous promenade stretching along the waterfront, lined with an enormous selection of eateries and bars. And is close to the main city square of Plateia Eleftherias
