Originally settled as a Jewish suburb of the predominantly Arab city of Jaffa in 1909, Tel Aviv is today the second-largest city in Israel and the economic and cultural centre. • Rabin Square – The largest public square in Israel. Nobel Peace Prize winner and former Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin was assassinated on this site in 1995, a memorial is located to the north-east of the square.
• Jaffa – The old port city of Jaffa has been absorbed into Tel Aviv but the historical city that was once the largest port in Israel, still remains with most attractions located around Kdumim Square.
