•  Surrounding Towns - Like most resort towns, there isn’t a lot of sightseeing to be done in Santa Margherita.  It is small, and was once home to a coral-fishing fleet.  It is an excellent base to explore the surrounding areas and other towns such as Portofino and Rapallo, and is also within easy access to the Cinque Terre.   
• The Castle - Santa Margherita’s most recognisable landmark is its 16th century castle at the foot of the hill, originally built to protect the city from Saracen pirates.

• Saint Statue - Like the submerged statue in the nearby town of Portofino, Santa Margherita’s patron saint protects her fishermen from her position on the main jetty.
