The Aeolian Islands are situated off the northern Sicilian coast. The seven islands; Lipari, Vulcano, Panarea, Stromboli, Salina, Filicudi and Alicudi can be accessed by Ferry or Hydrofoil. The Ferry and Hydrofoil leave from Milazzo very frequently and also from a handful of other towns however they have irregular departures and arrivals. The diverse group of volcanic islands, offer many attractions and picturesque views. Island Hotspots: Lipari – The Island is the biggest of the seven which offers a real idyllic, peaceful and beautiful holiday setting mixed with a bustling centre of chic Italian shops, boutiques and eateries. . Panarea – Like all the seven islands, Panarea offers both history and beauty. The island is known to be a photographers dream. The island itself covers the small islands of Basiluzzo, Dattilo and Lisca Bianca and several other inlets. The highest peak on Panarea is Pizzo del Corvo, raised 450meters offers beautiful descents from the majority of positions. Stromboli – on Stomboli you can admire the beautiful volcano which is still very active. Stromboli is known famously for the Sciara del Fuoco (“Stream of Fire”) which is a famous geological feature consisting of moderate eruptions at regular intervals. Along with the mountains covered in vineyards and olive trees, the little towns and villages are charming and the islands best ashy beach Piscita, is not far for tourists to visit by foot. Salina – North of Lipari, Salina will confirm all travelers’ expectations. The island is filled with culinary luxuries like aromatic red and white wines, luscious capers and a wide variety of flora and fauna. On the island there are two extinct volcanic cones rising out of the abundant land. Natural beauty is found throughout along with spectacular water sports. Filicudi – Sailing around Filicudi allows the viewing of the other islands from a remarkable perspective.
