Lake Como is located 44 kilometers north of Milan and is one of the deepest lakes in Europe. Lake Como is the third largest lake in Italy and is easily accessed by road and rail. Hydrofoil and train services connect the town of Como with other villages on the lake, such as Bellagio, Cernobbio, Tremezzo and Varenna. • Como – One of the lakes principal towns which is located on the southern shores of the lake. Como is the nearest resort to Milan and is pleasant to wander around and admire the historic buildings in the old town. Como Town is an ideal starting point to tourists and visitors who want to explore other hotspots around the lake.
• Lecco – Like Como, Lecco is another one of Lake Como’s principal towns which is situated on the southern shores of the Lake which lies at the outflow of the Adda River. Lecco has many historical and amazing sights to see, ranging from visiting the monument to the novelist Alessandro Manzoni, to exploring the steep slopes of Monte Moregallo. 
• Varenna – Varenna is highly regarded as the nicest place on the lake. The village itself falls down steep narrow alleyways to the lakefront. Views can be admired from the top of the precipitous slopes at the Castello de Vezio or simply from the waterfront.
• Bellagio – The village is the main hub water transportation on Lake Como, making it easily accessible. Bellagio offers plenty of picturesque scenery and historical landmarks to visit, such as the Villa Serbelloni and its celebrated gardens along with its renowned boutique craft shops in the steep narrow alleyways.
• Menaggio – Menaggio is one the main towns on Lake Como and has a good transport connection to many of the Lakes attraction. Like many of the towns around the lake, Menaggio offers plenty of water sports and recreational activities such as walking, hiking and cycling.
