The city is home to many museums, churches, castles and roman ruins such as the Palatine Towers. A view of the city can be seen with the snow capped Alps in the background from the Basilica church of Superga. Cuneo – Located on the Stura di Demonte River at the foot of the Maritime Alps, Cuneo is the main town in southern Piedmont. South of the town it is famously known for the popular sulphurous spas and resorts located in the valleys. Like most Italian towns, Cuneo also has picturesque churches, such as the elaborate cathedral of Santa Croce. Novara – The town lies between two rivers, Sesia and Ticino and is a well known historical spot. Novara is the second most popular are within the Piedmont region with visitors and locals after Turin, as it is full of historical museums, Christian sites, castles and many famous art collections.
