Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, is a city of colonial palaces, world renowned cultural treasures, lush parks and plazas. • Chichen Itza – This large pre-Columbian archaeological site, meaning ‘At the mouth of the well of the Itza’, is the most famous and best restored of the Yucutan Peninsula’s Mayan sites.  
• Teotihuacan – About 25 miles outside of Mexico City, this archaeological site is regarded as the ‘City of the Gods’. See the palace of Quetzal-Butterfly, walk along the Avenue of the Dead and climb the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon.

• Folkloric Ballet - Witness professional pre-Hispanic dances, jubilant ballet, colourful and traditional costumes, which are supported by talented musicians playing their guitars, trumpets, violins and marimbas.
• Xochimilco – This site has numerous waterways and flower gardens dating back to Aztec times. It is located in the south of the city where travellers can enjoy a trip in the ‘trajineras’ (bright-coloured boats).
• Museums – With more museums than any other city, it is worthwhile visiting one, particularly the National Museum of Anthropology.
