• Faro – The provincial capital of Algarve, Faro is a thriving university town. It has an international airport, a marina, seaport, rail station and complete inter-regional bus services. Faro is famous for its Ria Formosa lagoon, a nature reserve of over 170 sq kms featuring hundreds of different bird species during spring and autumn.
• Albufeira – Situated on the coast only 39km from Faro. Once a tiny fishing village, Albufeira is now a town with balmy beaches, a scenic old centre and a sparkling new marina.
• Lagos – Situated in the west of the Algarve region is the vibrant and sunny town of Lagos. This town offers beautiful cobbled streets bristled with cafes, restaurants and bars. Apart from its nightlife, there are long, sweeping beaches and nearby striking coastal coves.
• Portimão – Located near the mouth of River Arade, Portimão is the ancient capital of the Algarve region. On the western side of the river is Praia da Rocha, the oldest resort in the Algarve. Fishing, canning and shopping are the main activities in and around this sprawling port.
• Tavira – One of the oldest, most picturesque and genteel towns in the Algarve region, Tavira is topped with castle ruins and packed with 16th-18th century buildings and 37 churches. It is considered the Venice of the Algarve region. Best of all it is situated only 3kms from the coast and is known for as an ideal place for surfing.
