Since opening its shores to Western tourism Cuba has enjoyed a revival. Visitors travel to Cuba to see this island which has been isolated from western influences. Cuba has been involved in a major restoration projects which have been bringing back to life the many beautiful colonial architecture. Old Havana has been recognised by UNESCO receiving World Heritage status. Cuba has the charm of bygone days it is like nowhere else.
Havana is the capital of Cuba this city. Havana is a metropolis without the traffic you will see city life has remained unchanged since the 1950s. Behind the crumbling facades Havana has maintained to its retro glamour. There are classic American cars lined up on its streets. The legendary Tropicana is still producing cabarets shows. Jose Marti International airport is the main gateway for flight to Havana to arrive. A Cuban flight Havana is connected from a handful of destination. To arrive on a Cuban flight Havana you have to catch a flight to Havana from Mexico, South and Central America, Europe and Canada. There is no flight to Havana from the United States due to an embargo which does not allow flight to Havana to be taken from its airports. On arriving into Havana you are aware of what a unique destination you have flown to. On the roads fast food franchise billboards are missing what is in its place are revolutionary billboards featuring local hero Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara.
