of Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Starting in the Peruvian capital of Lima, you will travel to Machu Picchu – one of the seven new Wonders of the World – then on to the famed salt flats of Bolivia. Wind through the spectacular scenery of San Pedro de Atacama before ending your tour in the cosmopolitan city of Santiago.

Day 1 Lima

Arrive in Lima Airport and transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring the Peruvian capital at your own pace. Overnight in Lima.

Day 2 Lima

Morning city tour of Lima. See the historic centre, cathedral, Casa Aliaga, among other sites. Continue towards the Convent of San Francisco before taking a walk through the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores. Stop at the cliffs of Costa Verde to enjoy the view. Transfer to hotel. B

Day 3 Lima – Cusco

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. An afternoon tour commencing in Coricancha (Temple of the Sun) will also take in the cathedral, Sacsayhuaman (an immense fortress whose assembly is still a mystery), Qenqo, and conclude in Puka Pukara. Head back to your hotel. Overnight. B

Day 4 Cusco – Sacred Valley

Commence tour to Awanakancha, a camelids farm and textiles exhibition centre. Then on to the market of Pisac,
a local textile and craft market. Continue to the town of Ollantaytambo, which is the perfect example of Incan urban planning. Transfer back to your hotel. BL

Day 5 Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco

After breakfast transfer to Ollantaytambo station where
your trip to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes. A short transfer from here and you arrive at Machu Picchu – one of the seven new wonders of the world. Transfer back to hotel. B

Day 6 Cusco – Puno

Transfer to the Cusco bus station and settle in for a spectacular bus journey across the Altiplano and see the changing landscapes with some brief stops along the way. BL

Day 7 Puno – Huatajata

Take an overland trip to Copacabana, crossing the Strait of Tiquina. Hydrofoil cruise to Moon Island, then visit the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun In?ak Uyu. Continue to Sun Island Walk and witness the Sacred Fountain, whose groundwater is said to give youth and eternal happiness. Lunch at the archaeological restaurant Uma Kollu. This evening, learn about The Kallawayas (the ancestral healers of Bolivia). Visit the Native Observatory Alajpacha to observe the southern night sky. BL

Day 8 Huatajata – La Paz

Overland journey to La Paz where you will have a city tour. Visit indigenous, colonial and modern neighbourhoods. Stop by the Indian and the Witches' markets before a cable car ride to see the extraordinary landscapes, framed by the majestic snow-capped mountain ‘Illimani’. B

Day 9 La Paz – Uyuni

Early transfer to the airport for your flight to Uyuni. Upon arrival, begin a full-day excursion to visit the Salar de Uyuni including Isla Incahuasi – the largest salt flat on Earth. Surreal pentagons of crystalline salt create a landscape extending to the horizon, making it an ideal place for keen photographers. Overnight at your hotel. BLD

Day 10 Uyuni – San Pedro de Atacama

Overland drive to San Pedro de Atacama, visiting Laguna Colorada, characterized by the red tone of its waters. See three species of flamingo: tokoko, chururu and jututu. Continue
to Green lagoon, and the impressive view of Licancabur Volcano. After crossing the border, bus transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Overnight at your hotel. BL

Day 11 San Pedro de Atacama

Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, visit the beautiful Valley of the Moon, observing the glorious surrounds with awe- inspiring snowcapped volcanoes and rock formations. Stay overnight in San Pedro de Atacama. B

Day 12 San Pedro de Atacama

Today is a day at leisure. You can join an optional early- morning tour to the Geysers of El Tatio and the Machuca village – the dawn light and the steam from the geysers are breathtaking. Later in the day depart to Machuca, a location with traditionally built houses. B

Day 13 San Pedro Atacama – Santiago

Transfer to Calama Airport for your flight to Santiago. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival and overnight. B

Day 14 Santiago

Morning tour of Santiago. This metropolis has wonderful contrasts between modern skyscrapers and historic buildings made of adobe and dating back to the early 18th century. Visit the old district, where some of the most important buildings, such as La Moneda and the Presidential Palace, are located. The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight at your hotel. B

Day 15 Santiago

Day at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your flight back home. B
