There is one word to describe this fascinating country: exotic. You’ll never forget the sounds and scents of a bustling souk in Marrakech, the absolute silence of the dunes at night or the feeling as you hear the call to prayer sound out across the city from a rooftop in Casablanca. In many ways, it’s hard to believe you’re just a short journey from Spain such is the change in scenery and culture.

There’s the chance to view crumbling kasbahs near Skoura, visit an oasis dotted with date plams, or watch the work of the city’s last brocade maker in Fez.

It’s hard to believe that, during the winter months, the nearby Atlas Mountains play host to ski resorts. These ranges, the highest in northern Africa, are a place where visitors can trek through fertile valleys and visit traditional Berber villages.

From desert to ocean and mountain peaks, Morocco is a country of contrast and colour, and definitely one to add to your bucket list.
