The saying “la vie est belle” (life is beautiful) is certainly true of an existence enjoyed in Nice. The largest city in the French Riviera, this seaside beauty offers neighbourhoods buzzing with activity, quaint restaurants, and cafés perfect for some afternoon down time. Wander avenues lined with architecture from the Belle Epoque, enter the honeycomb of alleys in the beautiful Old Town and purchase fresh, fragrant blooms from the flower market. It is thought the Greeks founded the city in 350BC so history abounds here too, and while much remains buried under the city some may be visited, including ancient Roman baths.
