We offer many self drive itineraries in some of the world's most breathtaking destinations, which include accommodation and suggested itineraries of where to go. To give you an idea of what they encompass here are a few examples:
One of the best ways to explore the UK and Ireland is at your leisure. Without the confusion of any language barriers, driving on the British roads is easy – just be prepared to use your windscreen wipers!
The Wild Atlantic Way self drive package spans eleven days and roughly follows the coast of the Republic of Ireland. Forming a loop from Dublin, the drive encompasses some of the nation's most quintessentially Irish sights. See the crashing surf on the Donegal coast; the picturesque fishing town of Newport; and the beautiful Connemara region, characterised by contrasts and colours, mountains, lakes, and so much fresh produce. A great stop along the way is at Kylemore Abbey for the delectable Connemara-style smoked salmon, while a pint in a traditional pub in Dingle is a must. With beautiful mountains, medieval ruins and pristine beaches, the Iveragh Peninsula is well worth exploring on foot. The final leg of the drive takes in the Rock of Cashel, the ancient seat of Irish Kings, before arriving once more in Dublin.
Switzerland is a country most appreciated at your own pace. With sweeping vistas of jagged snowcapped mountains, pine forests and deep blue lakes, the natural beauty of Switzerland can only really be rivalled by the decadence of the food. On our 8 day Grand Tour of Switzerland you begin in Zurich, the home of world-famous chocolatiers Lindt & Sprungli. Flüela Pass, one of the most spectacular drives in Switzerland affords stunning views of glaciers and the approach into the flash St Moritz, full of luxe ski villas and famous resorts.
The Grand Tour also encompasses the traditional town of Andermatt, nestled in a valley and surrounded by wildflowers in the spring. From here, you can visit the precarious Devil's Bridge or catch a cable car up Gemsstock and be awestruck by the view over the surrounding mountain range. Another highlight is a visit to Gruyères, home of the delicious cheese renowned around the world for its distinctive creamy nutty flavour and use in fondue.
An exploration of Greece must surely start in Athens, the ancient capital that has been constantly inhabited for at least the past 7,000 years. Our Drive Peloponnese Delights package is no exception, with a loop from Athens via Nafplion, Sparti, Kalamata and Olympia.
Nafplion (or Nafplio) is one of the most beautiful towns on the Peloponnese coast and is known for its romantic whimsy, with ancient walls, medieval castles, monuments and statues, Ottoman fountains and Venetian buildings. Southbound is Sparta, the land of King Leonidas and the legendary Spartan soldiers.
Famous for more than its olives, further south is Kalamata with a picturesque historic centre and bustling beaches. Olympia, home of the ancient Olympic games, has an important archaeological site where you can learn more about Ancient Greece and admire important treasures, such as the statue of Praxiteles.
